As a direct result, the time has come for us to grow our team, and we are looking for an Industrial/Product designer to join us on a diverse number of projects which range from consumer electronics & UI/UX to FMCG. This is initially a short-term contract, created with a view to extension provided the selected designer excites/impresses/inspires/astounds us (no pressure). Description
Notion are seeking a mid/snr level Industrial Designer to fill a three month contract position with significant extension potential. The designer will be expected to take a lead position on a specific project for the duration of the contract, so we will need you to hit the ground running. The ideal candidate is someone who has the right balance of creativity/insight to professionalism/execution.
We want someone who can think and do. There is great potential for extending this position far beyond this initial contract if we are excited and impressed with your work. Candidates should have at least 2 years industry experience, and a proven track record demonstrating close client interaction and understanding.
Responsibilties
- Develop innovative product design solutions for clients, with client technical specifications, costs targets, and manufacturing constraints in mind.
- Responsible for industrial design projects, as well as functioning as the primary contact for clients with regard to their design projects.
- Generate product design concept ideations and ensure that design ideations meet manufacturing engineering requirements.
- Oversee industrial design projects from conception to final execution of product, keeping in contact with the client during the process. Create design presentations and present them to the client.
Specific Requirements
Candidates must possess a minimum Bachelors degree in Industrial Design or related fields.

- Ability to interpret a brief, and build a solid foundation for a design project. (Research, moodboards etc.)
- Conceptualize, through hand sketching, a broad range of ideas & potential solutions.
- Develop and iterate on ideas.
- Must have excellent 2D rendering skills (Illustrator/Photoshop)
- 3D modeling fluency. (Rhino/Alias or Solidworks)
- Intelligent and effective communication skills
- excellent verbal and written presentation skills. Understand the power of a story.
- Clear understanding of materials and manufacturing processes and their design and cost implications.
All of these skills must be demonstrated through an exceptional industrial design portfolio. This must include experience in real a world context – we are interested in how you translate design concepts into reality.
